TRIBAL EMPLOYMENT RIGHTS OFFICE - TERO

On January 23, 1993, the Seminole Nation of Oklahoma General Council passed legislation authorizing the establishment of TERO office.

The resolution and ordinance enables the Nation to exercise its inherent sovereign powers. This allows the TERO office to impose tribal member and citizens preference on employers within the reservation boundaries.

The primary purpose of the TERO program is to enforce tribally enacted Indian Preference law to insure that Indian/Alaska Native people gain their rightful share to employment, training, contracting, subcontracting, and business opportunities on and near reservations and native villages.
