Tribal Youth Coordinator
Position: Tribal Youth Coordinator
Reports To: JOM Director
Department: JOM

Job Purpose:
Under the direction and supervision of the JOM Program Director, the Tribal Youth Coordinator will assist in the planning, implementation and execution of educational after-school programs that promote learning and knowledge. The Tribal Youth Coordinator will assist in providing technical assistance to 10 JOM funded schools within the Seminole Reservation.

Job Duties:
Satisfactory job performance will be determined by successful execution of the following:
• Creates and coordinates after-school educational activity program for JOM schools within Seminole Reservation.
• Schedules, coordinates and oversees group projects ensuring a positive overall experience.
• Assist in obtaining Tribal verification documentation for JOM student eligibility and enrollment. Works with school coordinators, school officials and tribal enrollment officials to determine eligibility. Collecting and compiling student data.
• Customize each educational program activity to fit the needs of each school district.
• Ensures compliance with program requirements and helps to maintain records and reports.
• Provides assistance to school JOM Director and JOM school programs.
• Assist in researching and writing of grants.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Knowledge of Seminole tribal culture, history, language and traditions.
• Knowledge of project startup with Native youth educational programs.
• Ability to deal effectively with clients, staff, parents, and the general public.
• Ability to compile data to develop lesson plans for after school group activities.
• Knowledge of student IEP.
• Ability to understand and communicate concepts and theories accurately.
• Knowledge of working with Native American students and tribal communities.

Work Environment:
• Work is performed in an office environment.
• Duties of the position will require some travel.
• Evening, weekend, and/or holiday work may be required.

Physical Demands:
Position requires the demands of normal office work and traveling to other facilities and schools. May require fieldwork. Driving a GSA and/or privately-owned vehicle is required.

Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:
▪ Bachelor’s degree in Education, Education Administration, Social Sciences with three (3) years-experience in the field of education, youth services or related field.
Associate degree in Education, with four (4) years-experience in the field of education, youth services, or related field.
▪ Valid Oklahoma driver’s license with ability to meet Seminole Nation liability insurance requirements and maintain eligibility for insurance.
▪ Must be able to pass background check, with no prior convictions and/or felonies.
▪ Must be able to comply with the Seminole Nation Drug Free Workplace policies.
