MEKUSUKEY HEADSTART PROGRAM - SEMINOLE, OK

The Head Start / Early Head Start Program provides comprehensive child development services which address the needs of children and families in the area of four major components consisting of education, parent involvement, social services and health. The overall goal of the program is to bring about a degree of social competence in children taking into account the interrelatedness of social competence and intellectual development, physical and mental health, nutritional needs and other factors that enable a developmental approach to helping children achieve this goal.

Dear Parent/Guardian:

Seminole Nation Head Start/Early Head Start is currently accepting applications for the current school year. Our program is for Native and Non-Native children 6-weeks old to 5-years old. Our hours of service are from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. We have four sites: Mekusukey Mission and Admin Center (Seminole), Barking Water (Wewoka), and Rivermist(Konawa).

We offer FREE quality services to ensure the education, health, mental health, and social service needs of each child. Our Head Start & Early Head Start Programs Provide Services for Children with Special Needs. Seminole curriculum is taught in each classroom to enhance Seminole Cultural Awareness for Each Child.
